Architect Workspace - what does yours look like?

Throwback Thursday - St. Matthews Episcopal Church

St. Matthews Episcopal Church completed three major projects with FSF from 1996 to 2000. The first project was the one story Sandra Strickland Children's Education Building.  The second project was the new Worship Building with seating for 350.  The nave was designed as a contemporary interpretation on an English country gothic church, with exposed wood trusses and pointed gothic windows.  The third phase was the renovation of the former worship space into a Parrish Hall, including a two story addition with a Kitchen to serve the Parrish Hall.

How long have you been at FSF?  I was with FSF from 2007 - 2010 then came back last year.

What is your favorite season and why?  Summer!  I love the hot weather and being by the water.

Name three hobbies you enjoy.  Traveling, going for hikes, and visiting museums or festivals.

If you could travel anywhere where would it be?  I would love to go to the Dominican Republic.  The food, beaches, and music are all calling my name!

Throwback Thursday - Westside Bank 1999

Located on Chastain Road in Kennesaw near Towne Center Mall and Kennesaw State University, this BB&T Bank (formerly Westside Bank) was built in 1999 by Bon Building Services. This 12,500 sf two story bui...lding contained leasable space on the second floor in addition to the first floor bank. Polished granite was used at the entrance along with ribboned brick to blend into the surrounding office park.

FSF would like to congratulate Southcore Construction on winning the bid for the Renovations to Norton Park Elementary School in Cobb County.  We look forward to working with their team!

Tuesday Trivia!

What is the tallest building in Atlanta, rising 1,023 feet?  This building is also the tallest building in the US outside of New York and Chicago and the 9^th talles in the US overall.

Happy St. Patrick's Day from FSF!

Do you know why the shamrock is a symbol of St. Patrick’s Day?  Legend credits St. Patrick with using this tiny three leafed plant to teach the doctrine of the Holy Trinity to the Irish.

FSF Foto Friday!

Concrete is more than cold and grey.  You can utilize it for many other things.  We used concrete with a form liner to create wall panels for this particular building.  The panels were stained to give a wood plank design finish.  Can you tell it’s concrete?

Here is a sneak peek of the exterior concrete color of the children’s and youth areas at CrossPointe Church.  The panels were formed using a form liner to give it a wood plank siding look.  We are all excited to see the final product!

Throwback Thursday - First Baptist Church Hampton

Foreman Seeley Fountain was honored to be the architects for The First Baptist Church of Hampton for their relocation project.  Designed in 1990, it was the first of many future church relocation projects to come our way.  Located on 15 acres off Ga. Hwy 20, this 20,000 sq. ft. facility was designed to have a 500 seat multi-purpose room that held the congregation's worship, fellowship and education needs.  The room was central in the design with additional education spaces, kitchen and the administration area surrounding it.  Pastor Terry Quick led the relocation effort and the church has continued to grow and expand in the subsequent years due to his and their long range vision.

Tuesday Trivia!

ACI Award - First Place!

Last night at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia in Atlanta, Wheeler High School took FIRST PLACE in the Public Works - Education division of the American Concrete Institute design awards.  Submitted by the Metromont Corporation, Wheeler High School was selected based upon the design and the unique use of concrete in the construction of the building.

Accepting the award was from L-R, Ms. Anne Ellis, national president of ACI, Ms. Daphne Griffin, Program Manager for CCSD, Ms. Kathy Pallansch, Project Architect FSF, Mr. George Spence, Metromont, and Mr. Jerry Fountain, Principal in Charge FSF.  We at Foreman Seeley Fountain are extremely honored to have been selected for such a great award. 

Throwback Thursday!

Paces National Bank was a community bank designed to be a tenant in the Tower Place development in Buckhead.  Designed in 1989, this bank served the Buckhead business community and offered one the first 'sit down' teller lines in the city.
